Daniel Levy narrows down his search for Tottenham's next manager

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is closing on identifying his No 1 choice for the head coach vacancy, with Luis Enrique rivalling Arne Slot in the race for the job.

The north London club insist there is not a first-choice candidate as they continue the process of appointing Antonio Conte's replacement, joker game but chairman Levy is schedule to hold key meetings in the coming days as the club accelerate their efforts to name a new manager.

Club officials are understood to have elevated their interest in Feyenoord head coach Slot in recent days. Slot is viewed as one of the most exciting emerging managers in Europe and is viewed as an attractive option by Tottenham chiefs.

However, Enrique is understood to also be a serious contender for the vacancy.

Enrique has significantly more top-level experience than Slot having managed at Barcelona, Roma and the Spain national team.
