The Sculptor Thomas Hutter, The Unrealized Jesuit Missionary

The sculptor remained in Poland and did not give up his job. Work in missions never belonged to the easiest ones, and in Muslim countries, openly hostile to Christianity, it must have been linked with the sense of constant threat, which Hutter realized, as his second letter shows. The problems mentioned in them, the way they are formulated and the vastness of the letters show the person of Thomas Hutter from a surprising angle, as a religious, courageous, broad-minded man with various interests and talents.

The discussed letters are proof of this. This difference was also evident when it comes to styles of response. This was connected with the needs of the Sandomierz Jesuits who in 1717 took over the Gothic St Peter church from the parish. In Hutter’s long stay in Sandomierz that lasted till 1727 and was filled with work, about 1722 a clear crisis appeared. In the Roman Central Jesuit Archive (ARSI) two letters by the Jesuit sculptor Thomas Hutter (1696-1745) of 1722 and 1723 have been preserved.

The first part concern motivation in the job. The fourth part shows results of a poll, it`s analysis and conclusions. However, a few years later he decided to leave the order and start a family; he also established a lay, excellently prospering workshop.

W badaniach wzięło udział 150 osób odpowiadając w anonimowej skali na pytania dotyczące twierdzeń postawy człowieka względem psa. Średnie wyników wyniosły kolejno 3, 5 punktów za postawę wobec psów, 167, 28 punktów za poziom kompetencji społecznych oraz 62,30 za poziom empatii.Jednocześnie praca wykazała istotną korelację pomiędzy poziomem empatii a poziomem kompetencji społecznych o czym świadczy dodatnia wartość współczynnika korelacji Pearsona 0, 40 a także pomiędzy poziomem empatii a postawą wobec psów, gdzie współczynnik ten wyniósł 0,30.

Nieznaczącą korelację można natomiast zauważyć przy porównaniu poziomu kompetencji społecznych oraz postawy wobec psów, współczynnik korelacji wyniósł tutaj zaledwie 0,09.W tej pracy postawiłam 5 hipotez.

Wyniki skali zostały poddane analizie statystycznej sprawdzając rzetelność oraz ufność wyników. Zbadałem ich tematykę, formę ich przedstawiania oraz emocje, które wyrażają i wywołują wśród odbiorców.
